Carol Hengescht
PCD(DONA), CLC
I offer families non-judgmental support,
guidance and care during the early weeks after welcoming a new baby or babies
into their lives. I work with families during daytime and overnight hours and
support all families regardless of their parenting choices or family
structure.
Some families find an extra set of hands to
help with sibling care, light meals, dishes and laundry are invaluable. Others
may need infant education or breastfeeding support. Overnight sleep may be a
priority for others. We will discuss your needs to find the care that works
best for your family.
I come to you with over 8 years experience
supporting the families of many singletons and over 40 sets of twins and
triplets.
I've supported women diagnosed with postpartum
depression or anxiety and have a strong awareness of risk factors and symptoms
of postpartum mood disorders.
I am also a certified lactation counselor and
have extensive experience working with families who choose to breastfeed their
babies. I also support bottle/formula feeding families.
Families may have my help a few days or nights
each week during the early months after childbirth. Some families choose more
help, while others choose less. It is a personal decision based on your
needs.
While I am not a "Sleep Trainer", I
have helped parents find a peaceful path to improved sleep patterns without the
mental and physical trauma of more harsh sleep training methods. I am a strong
advocate of healthy and safe infant sleep.
